The essence of this paper is an attempt to highlight the conventional attitude and approach toward software testing /quality assurance (the required attitude and current practices) in the existing software industrial scenario and broadly compare the same with the current practices and processes. There is also focus on following a radically new attitude and approach toward software testing and quality assurance which will demand a change at various levels in an Organization such as the top management, organization structure and design, human resources management and process implementation and monitoring. This paper raises and analyses the issues, which are involved at these levels and also about convincing the management for achieving a kind of corporate discipline in every aspect of work at all the levels of the organization chart, which aims at bringing about a Quality Culture within the organization.

He has seven years of experience in the field of research, teaching, and software development and software testing. He has worked at The Center For Applied Artificial Intelligence Lab, at REC, Rourkela, as a Research Associate and has published/presented papers in International Journals and at various National conferences, in the area of Applied Artificial Intelligence. He has worked at Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., Bangalore and BAeHAL Software Ltd., Bangalore in real-time system software development & testing.
