Hi. A software tester or as I call them, 'Test Engineers' have a bright future. The key to becoming a professional test engineer, is developing the necessary skills for the job. Of course, learning automation tools, SQL and at least some basic coding is important. The thing is, that training for those areas is readily available to anyone interested. The missing link, is developing those core analytical skills that will help you better understand the products you are testing and how to best strategize your test efforts. Getting training in this area can be difficult.
